Selling your soul to the devil

Ratings
IMDB 7.0/10
Rotten Tomatoes Audience 70% wants to see it
This version is based on Goethe's Faust directed by a Russian director with the dialogue in German. That should give anyone who watches it an inkling of what to expect. The director has taken liberties with his interpretation of the tale and some might hate it. I will give the film a 7.0/10 for that difference.

My impressions:

This tale is quite well-known
Your soul in exchange for enlightenment

Man being what he is
Always curious
Never satisfied
With what is
Always questioning
With what is it

The price we pay for that knowledge
Seems irrelevant
As knowledge is the noble pursuit
We chase after
We long for

As if that will be the panacea
For all the questions
That we have

Some things
Will still remain
A mystery
